Ferozepur, Sanjhi Soch Beauro – On the New Year’s eve, MLA Parminder Singh Pinki, today laid the foundation stone of much-awaited ambitious project of 500-bedded PGI Satellite Centre, at a cost of Rs.2,000 crore, approved for the border region.
Deputy Commissioner Gurpal Singh Chahal, SSP Bhupinder Singh, Congress leader Bittu Sangha, Dharamjit Singh, and Gulshan Monga Advocate, were also present on the occasion.
In fact, there had been umpteen assurances during the last 7-years from the various privileged class representing the area and the residents continued to bear the brunt as they have to travel long distances to meet their healthcare needs. But now with the coming up of PGI Centre, not only the people of Ferozepur but the people of Malwa belt would be benefitted and directly or indirectly, 25,000 to 45,000 will also get employment.
Speaking on the occasion MLA Parminder Singh Pinki said that he was very happy to lay the foundation stone of PGI Satellite Center on the occasion of New Year today as it was not only his dream but the dream of all the people of Ferozepur.
He said that the work of PGI Satellite Center would be completed in the next two years and the people of Ferozepur would get better health facilities as well as employment opportunities for youths of the area, on a large scale.
He further said, earlier the 100-bedded PGI Satellite Centre was to be constructed at a cost of Rs.400 crore but now there will addition of 400 bedded which will cost around Rs.2,000 crore.
