Ferozepur, Sanjhi Soch Beauro – In an operation, today by CIA teams on a tip-off, a raid was conducted in the enclaves of river Sutlej in the surroundings of village Ali Ke and approximately 24,000 ltrs of ‘lahan’ and 196 illicit liquor bottles. During the raid, tarpaulins and tubes containing illicit liquor was also recovered and taken into custody.
The recovered ‘lahan’ and liquor was destroyed on the spot to avoid its misuse. Meanwhile, a case has been handed over to the police for further investigation by registering a case.
Divulging with details, Rattan Singh appointed IO, in this case, informed that an input was received by the police during the routing patrolling to keep an eye on mischievous persons that Jinder, Gurnam Singh, Prem Singh, Major Singh, Kulwant Singh and Rimpy are brewing the illegal liquor along the Sutlej River, who fled away from the scene on seeing the police teams. However, the police hunt is on to nab the accused.
Since there had been a major incident of death of more than a hundred persons in Amritsar and Tarn Taran areas on the consumption of spurious liquor, the conducting of raids against unscrupulous persons doing the extracting of illegal liquor will be a regular feature, said the police official.
