Covid-19 Breaking: ‘Stay at home’, Scotland imposes new coronavirus national lockdown

Chandigarh, Sanjhi Soch Beauro – Scotland has imposed a full national lockdown in response to the “extremely serious” spread of the new coronavirus variant, says in a tweet by Sputnik on Twitter.

Speaking in the Scottish Parliament on Monday, first minister Nicola Sturgeon said it is needed to give the COVID-19 vaccine the “time it needs to get ahead” of the new variant amid a “steeply rising trend of infections”.

The lockdown will come into force on Tuesday and last for the remainder of January.

Sturgeon said it will be a legal requirement to stay at home expect for essential purposes – similar to the one in March last year.  nThis includes schools, which will remain closed to most pupils until February at the earliest.
